Còn tại TP.HCM đang bị thiếu trầm trọng hướng dẫn viên tiếng Nhật và tiếng Hàn. Khánh Hòa và TP.HCM chỉ là hai trong số rất nhiều địa phương trên cả nước bị thiếu hụt hướng dẫn viên du lịch. Nghe qua tưởng như chuyện đùa, bởi những năm gần đây, lượng khách du lịch đến Việt Nam tuy có tăng nhưng theo nhiều nhận định vẫn chưa thấm gì so với tiềm năng của nước nhà. Vậy mà lúc này, nước ta lại đang thiếu trầm trọng người giới thiệu, quảng bá về tiềm năng của đất nước.
Tờ Thời báo kinh tế Sài Gòn có trích thống kê của Tổng Cục du lịch, đến cuối năm 2014, hướng dẫn viên giỏi ngoại ngữ chỉ khoảng gần 9.000 người. Trong đó quá nửa là sử dụng tiếng Anh, còn những ngôn ngữ hiếm như: tiếng Nga, tiếng Nhật chỉ đều hơn 400 người. Thậm chí với thị trường tăng trưởng nóng như Hàn Quốc lại chưa có đến 100 hướng dẫn viên.
