Sau 15 năm kể từ khi khai trương Trung tâm Giao dịch Chứng khoán lần đầu tiên ở Việt Nam vào năm 2000 (Nay là Sở Giao dịch Chứng khoán Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh - HSX), thị trường chứng khoán (TTCK) Việt Nam đã gặt hái được những thành công nhất định, khơi thông một kênh huy động vốn trung và dài hạn cho nền kinh tế, cũng như tạo ra các công cụ đầu tư mới cho công chúng. TTCK Việt Nam đã hình thành và từng bước phát triển cả về quy mô và chất lượng, góp phần phát triển kinh tế - xã hội của đất nước.
