- Hối phiếu trả tiền ngay (At sight Bill): là loại hối phiếu quy định người bị ký phát
phải thanh toán cho người cầm phiếu ngay khi nhìn thấy hối phiếu. Những hối phiếu
không quy định thời hạn thanh toán được xem là hối phiếu trả ngay.

- Hối phiếu có kỳ hạn (Usance Bill): Người ký phát hối phiếu có thể quy định thời
hạn thanh toán hối phiếu theo các cách sau:
trả sau 1 thời hạn nhất định kể từ ngày ký phát hối phiếu,
trả sau 1 thời hạn nhất định kể từ ngày chấp nhận hối phiếu,

trả sau 1 thời hạn nhất định kể từ ngày giao hàng,
trả tại 1 ngày cụ thể trong tương lai.
Các hối phiếu có kỳ hạn phải được xuất trình để ký chấp nhận nếu cần.
