Các chuyên gia cũng nêu ý kiến cần thiết phải thành lập cộng đồng MICE tại TPHCM và đề ra kế hoạch hành động, nhằm hỗ trợ các đơn vị du lịch của TP.

Trong 8 tháng đầu năm 2015, lượng khách quốc tế đến TPHCM đạt khoảng 2,83 triệu lượt, tăng 5% so với cùng kỳ, trong đó số lượng khách kết hợp công việc tăng khoảng 60%. Doanh thu ngành du lịch trong thời gian này đạt 60.741 tỷ đồng, tăng 4% so với cùng kỳ năm trước.

Năm 2015, thành phố dự kiến đón 4,7 triệu lượt khách quốc tế, tăng 7% so với năm 2014.
