Việc tư vấn, hỗ trợ luôn rất quan trọng đối với sinh viên, đặc biệt là với sinh viên năm thứ nhất. Ngay từ khi làm thủ tục nhập học, sinh viên đã được các cán bộ làm công tác tiếp nhận tư vấn, giải đáp những thắc mắc, hướng dẫn về chế độ chính sách xã hội, chỗ ở, kế hoạch học tập. Khoa tổ chức tuần sinh hoạt công dân cho 100% sinh viên năm thứ nhất, trong đó giới thiệu với sinh viên về lịch sử hình thành và phát triển của VNU và của Khoa; phổ biến quy chế đào tạo, quy định về công tác sinh viên, cung cấp những thông tin định hướng học tập, rèn luyện cho sinh viên, các hoạt động của sinh viên với sự tham gia của đại diện Ban Chủ nhiệm Khoa, cán bộ phòng Quản lý Đào tạo, cán bộ Đoàn – Hội (H9.09.02.03).
