Năm 2012, năm đầu tiên sau khi đổi chủ, CGV lãi 137 tỷ đồng. Nhưng các năm sau đó, con số cứ giảm dần đều, xuống 118, rồi 70 và đến năm 2015 thì lợi nhuận chỉ còn 31,5 tỷ đồng. Phía CGV cho biết, lợi nhuận sụt giảm một phần do hệ thống mở rộng và một phần do biến động tỷ giá.
