Phát biểu tại lễ bế mạc, ông Nguyễn Dung, Phó Chủ tịch UBND tỉnh Thừa Thiên-Huế, Trưởng Ban tổ chức Festival Huế 2016 nhận định: Festival Huế lần thứ 9 năm 2016 diễn ra thành công tốt đẹp đã góp phần bảo tồn, phát huy các giá trị văn hóa, nghệ thuật của Huế nói riêng và của Việt Nam nói chung, đồng thời khẳng định Thừa Thiên-Huế xứng tầm là một trong những trung tâm văn hóa-du lịch đặc sắc của Việt Nam.

Với sự tham gia của 650 nghệ sĩ, diễn viên của 32 đoàn nghệ thuật đến từ các vùng miền của Việt Nam và 18 quốc gia, vùng lãnh thổ trên thế giới, Festival Huế 2016 đã giới thiệu đến đông đảo công chúng Huế và du khách 53 chương trình nghệ thuật và lễ hội đặc sắc, hấp dẫn, qua đó tôn vinh các giá trị văn hóa truyền thống, thể hiện tinh thần giao lưu, đoàn kết, hội nhập và phát triển. Nhiều chương trình nghệ thuật và lễ hội đặc sắc đã diễn ra như: Đêm hoàng cung, lễ Tế Giao, trình diễn Áo dài, liên hoan Ẩm thực quốc tế, lễ hội Quảng chiếu, ngày hội Khinh khí cầu Quốc tế, chương trình Huế dịu dàng về miền Hương Ngự, lễ hội đường phố, Festival thơ, Festival diều Huế, cùng nhiều hội thảo khoa học, triển lãm nghệ thuật...

Festival Huế 2016 thực sự là cơ hội tăng cường tình đoàn kết hữu nghị giữa các quốc gia qua giao lưu văn hóa nghệ thuật, đồng thời góp phần xứng đáng vào các nỗ lực giới thiệu, quảng bá đất nước, con người Việt Nam, thúc đẩy các hoạt động ngoại giao, văn hóa của Việt Nam với các nước trên thế giới.

Chương trình bế mạc Festival Huế 2016 khép lại với màn pháo hoa rực rỡ, lung linh sắc màu, thay cho lời chào tạm biệt và hẹn gặp lại tại Festival Huế lần thứ 10 năm 2018.
