Theo kết quả điều tra, suy rộng chăn nuôi toàn tỉnh có đến 01/10/2014, tổng đàn trâu đạt khoảng 296.241/KH 297.000 con, tăng 1,47%; đàn bò ước đạt 391.155/KH 396.000 con, giảm 0,39%; đàn lợn ước đạt 971,8/KH 1.125 ngàn con, giảm 4,24%; đàn gia cầm ước đạt 17.955 ngàn con, tăng 2,49%. Sản lượng thịt hơi xuất chuồng cả năm ước đạt 210.000/KH 209.000 tấn, tăng 4,5% cùng kỳ.
Toàn tỉnh hiện có trên 380 trang trại chăn nuôi. Trong đó: 90 trại chăn nuôi lợn, 32 trại chăn nuôi gia cầm, trên 210 trang trại chăn nuôi trâu, bò. Đặc biệt là các trang trại lớn chăn nuôi bò sữa theo hướng công nghiệp của Công ty CP Sữa TH, Vinamilk tiếp tục được đầu tư mở rộng, đem lại hiệu quả kinh tế cao. Diện tích trồng cỏ tăng khá, 10 tháng ước đạt trên 13.870 ha (trong đó chủ yếu tập trung tại vùng Phủ Quỳ của Công ty CP sữa TH, Vinamilk).
