Công ty Cổ phần Điện lực Dầu khí Nhơn Trạch 2 (NT2) được thành lập vào ngày 15/6/2007 theo Nghị quyết số 01/NQ-ĐH của Đại hội đồng cổ đông NT2 với số vốn điều lệ ban đầu là 2.560 tỷ đồng.

Ngày 15/6/2007, thành lập Công ty Cổ phần Điện lực Dầu khí Nhơn Trạch 2 để làm Chủ đầu tư và vận hành khai thác Nhà máy điện Tuabin khi Chu trình hỗn hợp Nhơn Trạch 2, công suất 750 MW.
