Thực tế từ cuối năm 2014, nhiều doanh nghiệp Việt Nam đã ký xong đơn hàng xuất khẩu cho đến hết quý 3, thậm chí cho cả năm 2015.
Dự kiến đến giữa năm 2015, Việt Nam sẽ tham gia TPP. Nhìn từ bên ngoài, ngành dệt may Việt Nam được hưởng lợi nhiều, cụ thể kim ngạch xuất khẩu sang Mỹ sẽ có thể đạt tới 22 tỷ USD vào năm 2020. Nhưng từ bên trong, các doanh nghiệp Việt Nam có cái nhìn thận trọng hơn. Chẳng hạn khi tham gia TPP thì hàng dệt may đi vào thị trường 12 nước trong hiệp định sẽ có thuế suất bằng 0%, tưởng chừng sẽ rất có lợi cho các doanh nghiệp chuyên xuất khẩu. Nhưng trước yêu cầu xuất xứ hàng hoá, tỷ lệ nội địa hoá sản phẩm với ngành may phải đạt 55% trở lên, mà ở Việt Nam thì hiện tỷ lệ này chỉ đạt chưa đến 25%, doanh nghiệp Việt Nam sẽ không được hưởng ưu đãi. Các quốc gia trong TPP còn đặt ra rất nhiều hàng rào kỹ thuật, như sản phẩm bị kiểm định nghiêm ngặt bởi một công ty kiểm định độc lập.
