A. The concept of 5S:
+ 5S is a management approach aimed at improving the working environment, a permanent program of activities within an enterprise or an administrative unit. 5S is a set of 5 words in the original Japanese, each word begins with a negative S include (translated into Vietnamese): Screening, sort, clean, caring and willing.
+ 5S not only is the change and improvement work physically but also form new attitudes and behaviors of employees and make everyone instill a sense of discipline. We can say, 5S supportive, and further, 5S was a prerequisite for quality improvement programs throughout the enterprise, such as: total quality management (TQM), continuous process improvement (kaizen), and restructuring of business processes (BPR).
B. Effects and objective of the pilot project implemented 5S practice at Bank MB to:
+ Setup - fast system operation (by arrangement seats, seat scientific records, easy to find ...)
+ Reduce wasted / MB costs (operating costs, management costs ...)
+ Enhanced security recordkeeping documents (request tidy, no documents on the table work after each meeting is required)
+ Improving efficiency of machinery / equipment
+ Increases customer satisfaction
+ Strengthening innovation promotion
+ Create a good view and professional workplace
+ Raising awareness of all productive employees
+ The positive change in organizational culture. Help organizations set higher expectations.
C. Meaning of 5S for Operating activities:
+ A management system and organize the operation of Bank operations require reducing manpower, space, capital and time to create products at fault more. It creates a work environment with discipline, clean and orderly. Results from this application shows the constraints / bottlenecks in running work is minimized seen and the problems that arise are detected early and resolved promptly.
+ Besides, 5S also contributed offers increased quality of life for employees because consumer staff time at work than at home. 5S also help develop pride and teamwork. 5S workplace also makes easier the management and supervision over because no excess material, clutter hinders operations.
The program has been implemented 5S very successful at operating businesses in the service sector such as ACB, Sacombank, Vietnam France Hospital, Vietnam Airlines ... has reduced waste to operate, creating beautiful scenery, professional work and special increase satisfaction Customer.
D. Recommended deployment:
Derived from the benefits, objectives and significance of 5S program offers. Group recommendations implemented 5S program are as follows:
1. Methodology: Initially piloted in block Supports Business in collaboration with the Chamber of HO quality management to improve operational , modeling 5S point in MB and lessons learned in implementing the entire system.
2. The total cost of the project implemented 5S practice point is: VND 150,000,000 (one hundred and fifty million), programs and detailed plan is presented in «The scheme implemented 5S practice pilot projects in MB".
