Rice wine also called rice wine is a traditional dessert from southern Vietnam, made from glutinous rice. To prepare the rice wine, cooked sticky rice, mixed with yeast, and rolled into small balls. The balls are served in a white opaque slightly alcoholic, white liquid which is essentially a form of rice wine, and which also contains a small amount of sugar and salt. The dishes are eaten with spoons.
