Nông nghiệp Mỹ phát triển, đạt trình độ cao nhờ:
+ Có điều kiện tự nhiên thuận lợi ( Đất nông nghiệp có diện tích lớn, có cả 3 đới khí hậu, nguồn nước dồi dào…)
+ Có trình độ kỹ thuật công nghệ tiên tiến (áp dụng công nghệ sinh học rộng rãi; sử dụng nhiều máy móc, phân bón, thuốc trừ sâu; được sự hỗ trợ của các trung tâm khoa học ứng dụng…)
+ Nền nông nghiệp hoạt động hiệu quả
- Tỷ lệ lao động trong nông nghiệp rất thấp (4,4% ở Hoa Kỳ).
- Năng suất lao động cao, sản xuất ra khối lượng rất lớn.
+ Công nghệ sinh học được ứng dụng mạnh mẽ trong sản xuất nông nghiệp.
Trong khi Việt Nam là nước có khí hậu nhiệt đới gió mùa nóng ẩm quanh năm chịu nhiều thiên tai lũ lut. Hơn nữa, Việt Nam chưa có chính sách hỗ trợ phát triển cũng như chú trọng nông nghiệp Việt Nam
