Từ thời xa xưa khi con người mới xuất hiện trên trái đất đã biết sử dụng những vật dụng xung quanh để phục vụ cho đời sống của mình. Thời kì đồ đá, con người đã biết ghè những viên đá thô sơ trong tự nhiên thành các vật dụng trong đời sống: mài dao từ đá, làm rìu chặt cây… Đến thời kì đồ đồng, “công nghệ” đã được cải tiến hơn khi con người tìm ra sắt, chế tạo ra lưỡi cày giúp sản xuất nông nghiệp năng suất cao hơn. Thời kì trung cổ “công nghệ” của con người tiếp tục được phát triển, các máy móc đơn giản dần được đưa vào cuộc sống: đồng hồ, cối xay gió. Cho đến thời kì cận đại, cuộc cách mạng công nghiệp bùng nổ dẫn tới sự thay đổi lớn trong đời sống và sản xuất: sự ra đời của động cơ hơi nước rồi động cơ điện, bóng đèn điện đã tạo ra bước ngoặt lớn trong lịch sử văn minh nhân loại. Đến tận ngày nay, sự bùng nổ về công nghệ đã lan truyền tới từng quốc gia và vùng lãnh thổ trên thế giới, sự xuất hiện của máy tính và internet đã làm cho cuộc sống con người bước sang trang mới. Có thể thấy rõ ràng rằng lịch sử phát triển của nhân loại luôn gắn liền với sự đổi mới, phát triển của công cụ lao động. Trong sự phát triển của một quốc gia thì sự cải tiến về công nghệ là con đường tất yếu để đi lên. Việt Nam là một quốc gia đang phát triển với nền nông nghiệp lâu đời nhưng lạc hậu và kém hiệu quả thì việc vừa phát triển nông nghiệp vừa tìm ra hướng đi mới c trong các ngành công nghiệp là điều không thể khác. Điều này trông chờ hoàn toàn vào thế hệ trẻ- những người đang được tiếp xúc với công nghệ từng ngày, đủ khả năng để ứng dụng công nghệ vào mọi lĩnh vực của cuộc sống. Ngày nay, người ta lấy công nghệ thông tin làm thước đo trình độ phát triển của một quốc gia. Có thể thấy rằng các cường quốc trên thế giới như Mỹ, Anh, Pháp, Nhật Bản đều có một nền công nghệ phát triển ở trình độ cao, đứng đầu thế giới. Ý thức được điều đó, tôi không ngừng cố gắng học tập, rèn luyện bản thân, nâng cao kiến thức, góp phần vào sự nghiệp xây dựng và phát triển đất nước.
Trong thời đại công nghệ và truyền thông bùng nổ, len lỏi tới từng ngóc ngách của các lĩnh vực trong đời sống, bất cứ ngành nghề, lĩnh vực nào cũng cần sự có mặt của công nghệ thông tin. Nhu cầu ngày càng lớn về nguồn nhân lực với lĩnh vực đầy năng động và sáng tạo này, tôi có nhiều lựa chọn trong công việc của mình. Với những kiến thức được đào tạo ở đại học, với tư cách là một kĩ sư công nghệ khi ra trường, tôi có thể trở thành một lập trình viên phần mềm, chuyên viên phân tích thiết kế hệ thống, bảo mật thông tin, quản trị mạng, kĩ thuật phần cứng máy tính. Ngày càng nhiều các công ty phần mềm, các công ty cung cấp giải pháp công nghệ thông tin, công ty sản xuất, lắp ráp, sửa chữa trang thiết bị phần cứng được lập ra với nhu cầu cao về nguồn nhân lực, tôi sẽ có nhiều lựa chọn hơn cho sự nghiệp của mình: thăng tiến trở thành chuyên gia quản lý, điều phối viên các dự án công nghệ tại các tập đoàn, doanh nghiệp trong và ngoài nước.
Người ta đều cho rằng từ lý thuyết đến thực hành là cả một khoảng cách lớn, con đường từ kiến thức đến áp dụng vào thực tế là cả một quá trình gian nan vất vả. Do vậy tôi không chỉ cần giỏi kiến thức mà còn phải kĩ năng cho bản thân mình. Công nghệ thông tin đòi hỏi tôi phải có tư duy nhạy bén, tư duy logic, khả năng làm việc độc lập và khả năng tiếp cận công nghệ mới. Bên cạnh đó, để đạt được thành công trong lĩnh vực này, ngoại ngữ là yếu tố rất cần thiết mà tôi phải có để có thể tiếp cận với những công nghệ tiên tiến trên thế giới. Thêm vào đó, kĩ năng làm việc nhóm để thực hiện các dự án, kĩ năng giao tiếp để có thể tự tin, trình bày ý tưởng, thuyết phục khách hàng cũng là các nhân tố quan trọng khác giúp tôi thành công trong lĩnh vực của mình.
Tôi cũng hiểu rằng, Việt Nam còn đối mặt với nhiều khó khăn và việc phát triển đất nước thì không phải một sớm một chiều và cũng không phải việc của riêng ai. Tôi rất thích cách đào tạo con người của Nhật Bản, họ luôn đề cao “con người là yếu tố hàng đầu” và đào tạo tốt con người sẽ là yếu tố tiên quyết cho những vấn đề khó khăn được giải quyết. Quả thật vậy, chúng ta cần con người chứ không cần một cỗ máy, tôi nhận ra rằng mình giỏi kiến thức thôi chưa đủ, nếu thực sự muốn đóng góp một điều gì đáng kể cho đất nước thì cần phải làm cho mình hoàn thiện cả về tri thức lẫn kĩ năng.
Thật đáng buồn vì rất nhiều người Việt Nam sở hữu những món đồ công nghệ đắt tiền nhưng chỉ một số ít trong họ có thể áp dụng một cách hiệu quả những tiện ích trên món đồ công nghệ đó vào cuộc sống, phục vụ cho công việc của mình. Rất nhiều bạn trẻ sở hữu Iphone nhưng không biết hệ điều hành iOS đó có những chức năng khác ngoài gọi điện, nhắn tin, lên mạng xã hội… Tôi luôn có một khát vọng, làm thế nào để công nghệ phục vụ hiệu quả nhất cho chính cuộc sống của chúng ta, chứ không phải con người làm ra công nghệ rồi lại bị phụ thuộc vào công nghệ. Đó là một vấn đề cần thức tỉnh trong một bộ phận giới trẻ Việt Nam – những người sẽ góp bàn tay, khối óc của mình cho sự nghiệp công nghiệp hóa – hiện đại hóa đất nước. Là một kỹ sư công nghệ tương lai tôi tự thấy bản thân có trách nhiệm trong việc này.
Để thực hiện được khát vọng cống hiến cho sự nghiệp công nghiệp hóa, hiện đại hóa đất nước, tôi phải không ngừng học tập, trau dồi kĩ năng và đi tìm cho mình môi trường phù hợp. Và tôi nhận ra rằng cơ hội được học tập, trải nghiệm, đào tạo kĩ năng cùng với các chuyên gia từ tập đoàn GE là điểm đến lý tưởng mà tôi đang tìm kiếm.
