Field and Laborato ry Test PlanIn this study, field tests were conducted on 25 Florida flexible pavement sections. Most of the sections experienced recent overlay sothat minimal cracks were detected. On eac h section, project personnel marked (wi thin a 30.5-m segment) at eight stations along the outerWhee l path and between the wheel paths where FWD and PSPAWER e mea sured by avoiding areas where the cracks existed. FallingWeig ht deflectome ter full-tim e history data we re collected at eac hSt ation along with the mea surements of pavement surfa ce tempe renature s. Using pavement surfa ce tempe renature, the pavement tempe renature at the middle of depth was estim ated by using BELLS3equ ation, which is a routine procedur e to estimate pavement temperat ure in Fl orida Depa rtment of Trans portation (FDOT). The autho rs also used the FWD tim e-history data to determine the loadi ngfrequency.Falling weig ht defle ctometer tests at each statio n were closel yfo llowed by PSPA tests to minim ize environmenta l effects.
