Xin chào mọi người, tên tôi là Mai. Hôm nay tôi sẽ nói cho các bạn biết sự khác biệt của 2 nền văn hóa Việt nam và mỹ. Khi nói về điều này tôi có thể nghĩ về nhiều vấn đề, cụ thể là văn học, phong cách âm nhạc, tôn giáo, ngôn ngữ... Và tôi sẽ cho bạn biết một số điểm khác nhau của hai nền văn hóa.
Đầu tiên là văn hóa ẩm thực. Cả Mỹ và Việt Nam có 3 bữa mỗi ngày, nhưng món Mỹ truyền thống thường có thịt bò, thịt cừu, thịt lợn, thịt gà, cá cùng với khoai tây và một số loại rau khác trong khi người Việt Nam coi gạo, thịt lợn và rau như là thành phần chính của các bữa ăn. Các loại thực phẩm phổ biến nhất ở Mỹ gồm bánh mì, cá và khoai tây chiên, bánh quy còn Việt nam là cơm, Phở, bún chả, Xoi. Sự khác biệt khác là cách ăn uống. Người Mỹ ăn với dao, nĩa hoặc thìa trong khi Việt Nam sử dụng đũa. Trong các bữa ăn, người Mỹ thường sử dụng bàn, khăn ăn nhưng giấy, khăn tay được sử dụng khi người Việt Nam kết thúc bữa ăn. Ngoài ra, trước khi ăn, người Mĩ thường cầu nguyện cho Ðức Chúa trời vì đã cung cấp cho họ các loại thực phẩm, Tuy nhiên, ở Việt Nam, những người ít tuổi thường mời những người lớn tuổi hơn trước khi ăn.
Điểm khác nhau thứ hai là tập quán xã hội. Ở Việt Nam, chúng ta gọi tên một người là phổ biến nhưng ở Mỹ, nó được coi là bất lịch sự, họ thường gọi tên gia đình của người đó, ngoại trừ bạn bè thân thiết hoặc thành viên gia đình. Ngoài ra, khi chúng ta nói chuyện với một người Mỹ, không nên hỏi về tuổi, cân nặng hay thói quen cá nhân, còn ở Việt Nam diều đó là bình thường. Một khác biệt nữa là phụ nữ ở Mỹ có quyền bình đẳng và tôn trọng như nam giới, nhưng trái ngược với suy nghĩ của người Việt Nam, vẫn còn nhiều người trọng nam khinh nữ.
