Khi phát hành game Baldur’s Gate, nhà sản xuất BiWare đã thành công vang dội trên thế giới và cả ở VN. Và để các fan không bị chán, Baldur’s Gate II được ra đời, trò chơi thuộc thể loại nhập vai giống như trò chơi nổi tiếng Diablo.

Cốt truyện của trò chơi nói về Bhaal, một tên phù thuỷ gian xảo và bạn đóng vai một đứa trẻ bị Bhaal giết nhưng trốn chạy được. Và chúng đã vu oan cho đứa trẻ giết anh mình là Saravok và sau đó bạn bị bắt cóc bởi tên phù thuỷ đồng bọn là Jon Irncicus. Trò chơi được bắt đầu khi bạn tỉnh dậy sau một giấc thôi miên dài, bị tra tấn dã man.
