Quy mô hệ thống ngân hàng Việt Nam đang ở đâu?
Quy mô của hệ thống ngân hàng Việt Nam cũng gia tăng mạnh mẽ trong hơn một thập kỷ vừa qua.
Cụ thể, tỷ lệ tín dụng nền kinh tế so với GDP đã tăng hơn 3.4 lần trong giai đoạn 2000 – 2011, và tăng 1.6 lần trong giai đoạn 2006 – 2011. Đáng chú ý, quy mô tín dụng tăng trưởng mạnh mẽ cả theo tương đối lẫn số tuyệt đối kể từ sau những năm 2004, 2005.
Đến cuối năm 2012, tổng tín dụng nền kinh tế theo số liệu công bố của NHNN ước đạt 3,038,265 tỷ đồng (tăng khoảng 7% so với cuối năm 2011), và tổng tài sản của hệ thống ngân hàng là 5,085,780 tỷ đồng.
