Với việc đổi mới phương pháp dạy học lấy người học là trung tâm như hiện nay thì khi đó từ “teacher” ( người dạy or thầy cô giáo) được thay bằng từ “ instructor” ( người hướng dẫn). Người thầy sẽ là người trợ giúp cho học sinh lĩnh hội kiến thức và không còn là người “độc quyền” truyền đạt kiến thức cho học sinh nữa. Học sinh sẽ tự mình chủ động tiếp thu kiến thức từ nhiều nguồn khác như sách báo, Internet.
