Theo Cục An toàn Thực phẩm, trong năm 2014, cả nước ghi nhận 189 vụ ngộ độc thực phẩm với hơn 5.100 người mắc, 4.100 người nhập viện và 43 trường hợp tử vong.
Số liệu trên được tính đến ngày 15/12/2014, so với năm 2013, số vụ ngộ độc thực phẩm tăng 22 vụ, tuy nhiên số người mắc giảm 402 người, số người nhập viện giảm 901 người nhưng số người tử vong tăng gần 54% (tăng thêm 15 người)
