Ngày 21/7, Ngân hàng Nhà nước đã có Quyết định số 1391/QĐ-NHNN chấp thuận sáp nhập Ngân hàng Thương mại Cổ phần Phát triển Mê Kông (MDB) vào Ngân hàng Thương mại Cổ phần Hàng hải Việt Nam (Maritime Bank).
Quyết định này có hiệu lực từ ngày 12/8/2015.
Theo Ngân hàng Nhà nước, việc sáp nhập MDB vào Maritime Bank dựa trên cơ sở tự nguyện, với mong muốn kết hợp sự tương đồng về văn hóa doanh nghiệp, văn hóa kinh doanh, sản phẩm dịch vụ, gia tăng thế mạnh sẵn có của hai ngân hàng.
