Một hoạt động đặc biệt đã diễn ra vào ngày cuối tháng 03 năm 2016 tại trạm Cát Lát – Geocycle lần đầu tiên thực hiện dịch vụ vệ sinh các bể cặn bùn - gồm hai bể bùn cặn dầu (dirty oil tank) và một bể bùn của nước sinh hoạt (sludge tank) trên tàu cho tàu Buffalo – tàu biển chuyên dụng vận chuyển xi măng Holcim Việt Nam.

Thông tin có được từ Thuyền trưởng, sau quãng thời gian khoảng hơn 1 năm hoạt động thì các bể bùn trên tàu sẽ đầy. Theo đó, các bể bùn này cần phải làm sạch để có thể tiếp tục vận hành tàu. Các lần vệ sinh trước được thực hiện ở nước ngoài khi tàu đi bảo trì bảo dưỡng. Năm nay, chủ tàu là công ty SingaShip - đối tác của Holcim Việt Nam - đã tìm hiểu 1 số đơn vị ở Việt Nam cho phần việc này nhưng không tìm được công ty nào đủ khả năng làm vệ sinh ba bể bùn này nằm sâu cách boong tàu đến 9 mét, với điều kiện máy móc của tàu luôn hoạt động ồn ào và hạn hẹp về không gian một cách an toàn và hơn nữa phải đáp ứng thời gian linh động vì tàu này vẫn phải đang duy trì hoạt động tuyến Cát Lái - Hòn Chông liên tục.
