“Trong ba tháng đầu năm 2016, lạm phát đã tăng lên trung bình 1,3%. Chúng tôi dự báo rằng, lạm phát cả năm sẽ ở mức trung bình 3,0% trong năm 2016 và có thể là 4,0% trong năm 2017”, ông Eric Sidgwick, Giám đốc Quốc gia của ADB tại Việt Nam cho biết.

Trước đó, theo báo cáo của Công ty chứng khoán Vietcombank (VCBS), lạm phát cả năm 2016 dự báo vào khoảng 2,5%. Hầu hết các báo cáo đều cho rằng, lạm phát tăng chủ yếu đến từ việc tăng giá của các mặt hàng thiết yếu như: điện, nước, y tế, giáo dục…

Cũng theo phân tích, ADB đồng tình và cho rằng, chính phủ dự kiến sẽ nâng giá dịch vụ giáo dục và y tế, tăng tiền lương tối thiểu khu vực công. Giá nhập khẩu năm nay sẽ tăng khi tiền đồng mất giá, giá lương thực và nhiên liệu thế giới cũng sẽ tăng trong năm 2017. Đó là những yếu tố khiến lạm phát năm sau sẽ cao hơn năm trước (năm 2015, lạm phát là 2% – thấp kỷ lục trong 15 năm qua).
