1.Lịch sử thành lập trường

ĐH Stanford, hay Đại học Leland Stanford được sáng lập năm 1985 bởi Leland Stanford (California) và vợ của ông là Jane Lathrop Stanford để nhớ đến đứa con duy nhất của mình là Leland Stanford, đã qua đời trước đó.

Ngày 01/10/1891, trường nhận giảng dạy lứa sinh viên đầu tiên như theo tính chất hợp tác giáo dục và một tổ chức phi đảng phái và chính thức đi vào hoạt động. Học phí được miễn cho đến 1920.
