Luật hôn nhân và gia đình Việt Nam quy định con gái từ 18 tuổi trở lên và con trai từ 20 tuổi trở lên mới được quyền kết hôn, nhưng tình trạng tảo hôn, kết hôn ở tuổi vị thành niên vẫn còn nhiều và chủ yếu là ở nông thôn.
