Năm 2009, Hội nghị cấp cao ASEAN lần thứ 14 tại Thái Lan đã thông qua hiệp định thương mại hàng hóa ASEAN (ATIGA) để thay thế CEPT và đã có hiệu lực từ ngày 17/05/2010.
