Tỷ trọng xuất khẩu mặt hàng thủy sản vào thị trường EU so với tổng giá trị xuất khẩu thủy sản của Việt Nam ra thị trường quốc tế luôn ở mức cao, năm 2011 – 2014 (tỷ trọng trung bình là ở mức 18.31%). Tốc độ tăng trưởng xuất khẩu thủy sản vào thị trường EU ở giai đoạn 2012-2013 so với giai đoạn 2011-2012 là giảm (giảm 11,5%). Nguyên nhân dẫn đến sự giảm sút này là do hệ quả của khủng hoảng kinh tế toàn cầu bắt đầu từ năm 2008 và chính sách phòng vệ thương mai của các quốc gia EU, đặc biệt là những nguyên nhân nội tại của sản xuất thủy sản Việt Nam (nguyên liệu đầu vào, chất lượng thủy sản, mẫu mã)…

The proportion of export items of aquatic products on the EU market than the total value of Vietnam's seafood exports out of international markets consistently at a high level, in 2011-2014 (the average proportion was 18.31%) level. The growth rate of export aquatic products to the EU market in the period 2012-2013 compared to the period of 2011-2012 (11.5%) reduction is reduced. The cause leading to this decline is the result of the global economic crisis started in 2008 and commercial defence policies of the EU countries, especially the causes of internal Vietnam seafood production (raw materials, quality seafood, sample code).
