It is undeniable that the Internet has been an unlimited source of information meeting human's demands all over the world. However, there is a strong belief, indicating that taking materials from online sources is a thievery. I myself conflict with that idea, so in the following essay I will demonstrate my viewpoint by some explanations and examples.First of all, downloading something from the Internet does not cause any losses that are normally resulted from a robbery. Indeed, after copied by users, online materials are still available and seem undamaged. For instance, teachers regularly use online lesson plans or exercises.of all by copying them to their private computers. This action, in fact, does not affect the subsequent users who wish to getthe same materials because they are still in their positions. The same case is for getting a song from an online website in which its initial version remains intact. In other words, if the user gets a song in an illegal manner, he or she would have bought it or if that person has no intention of paying for it, taking it from the internet illegally does not lead to any lost sales. Consequently, that cannot be considered a kind of crime. Another reason for my argument is that creators of online sources perhaps benefit from users ' downloading. In fact, websites in association with piracy give their owners profit through contributions or advertisements. For instance, more and more internet sites have been requesting denotations to pay the expenses of hosting a website. Additionally, advertising possibly enables the inventors to gain high income; piracy and torrent sites exemplify this point. By contrast, there is an opposite assumption that downloading documents appears to violate human's intellectual possession, yet I do not coincide with this perspective. Apparently, according to Nick Djinn who (2010), it is never effortless to receive something illegally as the users often have to make some payment for software due to a possibility of outdated programs or software. The users are undeniably, somehow, compensating the inventors for their creation; Thus, we cannot call them thieves. All things pondered, I hold my strong point of view that taking references and documents from the Internet cannot without robbing regarded for the two reasons. Yet, to ensure the copyright and security, the technological firms» and creators had better consider applying account systems widely for every online site.
