Chiếm 68% dân số và đóng góp 60% GDP cả nước, nông thôn chính là mảnh đất màu mỡ của ngành bán lẻ với nhiều cơ hội nhưng cũng không ít thách thức.

Ông Vaughan Ryan, Giám đốc Điều hành Nielsen Việt Nam từng khẳng định rằng “muốn thắng ở Việt Nam thì phải thắng ở nông thôn”. Nghĩa là, với một thị trường tiêu dùng hơn 90 triệu dân, doanh nghiệp cần phải khai thác triệt để con số này. Thế nhưng, hiện nhiều doanh nghiệp trong và ngoài nước vẫn chưa làm được điều đó, cụ thể là ngành bán lẻ.
