ông William C.Dudley, Giám đốc Fed tại New York nhận định, có thể việc giảm tỷ lệ thất nghiệp thời gian qua đã không phản ánh đúng tình hình của thị trường lao động. Ông Dudley thừa nhận rằng, 1/2 sự sụt giảm của tỉ lệ thất nghiệp kể từ tháng 9/2011 đến nay là do sự sụt giảm của tỉ lệ người tham gia vào thị trường lao động.
