a. Tình hình đầu tư của Trung Quốc vào Việt Nam
FDI của Trung Quốc vào Việt Nam được bắt đầu từ cuối tháng 11 – 1991 và tiếp tục tăng về quy mô, thay đổi về hình thức, lĩnh vực, mở rộng về địa bàn. Đến hết 2014 Trung Quốc có 1.082 dự án còn hiệu lực tại Việt Nam với tổng vốn đăng ký 7,94 tỷ USD chiếm 6,2% số dự án và 3,29% tổng vốn đăng ký, đứng thứ 9 trong tổng số 101 quốc gia và vùng lãnh thổ có đầu tư tại Việt Nam. Tuy nhiên theo thời gian, FDI của Trung Quốc vào Việt Nam tăng- giảm khá thất thường, riêng năm 2013 chiếm tới hơn 2,3 tỷ USD, trong đó dự án xây dựng nhà máy nhiệt điện đốt than BOT Vĩnh Tân đã là hơn 2 tỷ USD, mức độ thực hiện còn thấp so với mức trung bình, chỉ đạt khoảng 30%. Trong số 17 lĩnh vực các đối tác Trung Quốc đầu tư vào Việt Nam thì các lĩnh vực bất động sản và dệt may đón số vốn lớn nhất.
Thực tiễn đầu tư của Trung Quốc vào Việt Nam từ 2000 cho đến nay được thể khá rõ qua các giai đoạn: từ trước năm 2001 đầu tư FDI của Trung Quốc vào Việt Nam chỉ mang tính chất thăm dò, số dự án và lượng vốn đầu tư vào Việt Nam là rất nhỏ so với tổng lượng vốn FDI.
