Many of the skills that are crucial to success in the 21st century are not easily taught in the classroom. It is hard to 'teach' collaboration in a traditional way, but using a play-based approach makes it possible and effective. Through play, primary school children can act as learners who are autonomous, socially interactive, creative, investigative, resilience and reflective problem-solvers who are essential skills for the 21st century. These skills also provide a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
