Tỉnh Hưng Yên đang đẩy mạnh tái cơ cấu, xây dựng nền nông nghiệp theo hướng hiện đại, sản xuất hàng hóa, tập trung, an toàn, có năng suất, chất lượng và hiệu quả kinh tế cao gắn với bảo vệ môi trường và xây dựng nông thôn mới.

Mục tiêu của tỉnh đề ra là giai đoạn 2016-2020, giá trị sản xuất nông nghiệp tăng bình quân từ 2,5 đến 3%/năm; đến năm 2020, giá trị thu được trên một héc-ta canh tác bình quân đạt hơn 210 triệu đồng; cơ cấu kinh tế nông nghiệp: lương thực 15,5% - rau quả, cây công nghiệp 26,5% - chăn nuôi, thủy sản 58%; thu nhập bình quân đầu người khu vực nông thôn đạt 45 triệu đồng…

Để đạt được các mục tiêu, tỉnh đề ra nhiều giải pháp như: đẩy mạnh tái cơ cấu ngành, xây dựng nền nông nghiệp hiện đại và phát triển bền vững theo quy hoạch; tăng cường nghiên cứu, ứng dụng và chuyển giao khoa học, công nghệ tiên tiến, phát triển sản xuất hàng hóa tập trung, quy mô lớn gắn với đẩy mạnh cơ giới hóa, công nghiệp hóa trong sản xuất nông nghiệp.

Tỉnh tiến hành rà soát, bổ sung và ban hành các cơ chế, chính sách khuyến khích đầu tư phát triển sản xuất nông nghiệp và kinh tế nông thôn, đổi mới, phát triển và nâng cao hiệu quả hoạt động của kinh tế hợp tác; chú trọng nâng cao vai trò lãnh đạo, chỉ đạo của các cấp ủy đảng, chính quyền, năng lực và hiệu quả quản lý nhà nước các cấp, tăng cường đào tạo, nâng cao trình độ kỹ thuật cho nông dân, đẩy mạnh xúc tiến thương mại và quảng bá sản phẩm nông nghiệp; huy động và sử dụng có hiệu quả các nguồn lực cho phát triển nông nghiệp và xây dựng nông thôn mới.
