Egypt is the second most populous country in Africa, with about 83 million people. Most of the population is concentrated along the two banks of the Nile (especially in Alexandria and Cairo) and in Delta and near the Suez Canal zone. Nearly 90% of the population are Muslims and most Christians remaining (at most Coptic Orthodox sect). In addition to the religious divide, the Egyptians can be classified according to demographic into those living in urban areas and farmers (fellahin) or the farmer in the farming village.
