These studies have tried to find out the influence of the songs on the vocabulary of language learners on level based on their gender. To achieve this purpose, a test of proficiency in the language used for the 105 male and female students studying English in Ahvaz, Iran in the form of multiple choice items of vocabulary and structures and the last of 60 people to learn the language on the level were selected and randomly divided into two homogeneous groups such as music mode and no music. The participants are tested on a multiple-choice test that probe into the learners' vocabulary learning through songs three different musical genres, ie pop, country, and rap. The results of a series of t-test showed musical- mode groups performed better on both the recovery and maintain vocabulary. The results also showed better performance of male students than female. These findings suggest that the song is not merely an entertainment tool, and they can be used as a pedagogical materials, especially when it comes to teaching vocabulary.
