Project description
Like the parent building in Paris, the Centre Pompidou new print was conceived as an Innovative Metz location for the arts. In addition to volumes stacked above each other for Exhibitions, offset form, there are various Halls and other facilities for Activities. In the evening, the hexagonal pattern of the load-bearing timber roof structure, is visible through the translucent membrane covering. Around the central mast and the exhibition boxes, the structure is fixed to large steel rings and extends inwards to four funnel-shaped Supporting piers. Internally, the 37-metre hall is flooded with high-light. Through transparent corrugated polycarbonate sheeting printed facades, the building opens to the outside world Itself.
