Theo đó những yếu tố căn bản nhất ảnh hưởng đến động cơ đầu tư, bao gồm (1) Mức lãi suất của vốn vay: lãi suất càng cao động lực đầu tư càng thấp; (2) Tốc độ khấu hao của tư bản: tốc độ khấu hao càng cao, động lực đầu tư càng thấp; (3) tốc độ thay đổi giá của tư bản: tốc độ tăng giá của tư bản cao khiến động lực đầu tư tăng; (4) mức thuế: theo đó mức thuế càng cao động lực đầu tư càng giảm.
