Việc đón bắt được nhiều cơ hội của quá trình hội nhập cùng với sự xuất hiện của các thương hiệu du lịch toàn cầu trong vài năm trở lại đây như “Khu nghỉ dưỡng hàng đầu châu Á”, “Thành phố phong cảnh châu Á”… đã làm đa dạng hơn nguồn khách quốc tế đến Đà Nẵng. Những năm trở lại đây chúng ta có thể thấy rõ được sự chuyển mình của nền kinh tế, cơ sở vật chất kỹ thuật được đầu tư phát triển công nghiệp hoá, hiện đại hoá cuộc sống của người dân được cải thiện rõ rệt nâng cao và nhu cầu của xã hội ngày được mở rộng. - Là bộ phận đại diện cho khách sạn để giới thiệu, bán và cung cấp các dịch vụ khác trong khách sạn khi khách hàng có nhu cầu.
- Là bộ phận trực tiếp giải quyết các vấn đề phát sinh trong quá trình khách lu trú.
3.1.2. Chức năng và nhiệm vụ của bộ phận Lễ tân.
a. Chức năng của bộ phận Lễ tân:
Là đón tiếp, làm thủ tục đến và đi cho khách. Nhận đặt chỗ, sắp xếp các phòng và phục vụ khách trong thời gian lu trú. Đồng thời bộ phận Lễ tân còn là bộ phận tham mu, đóng góp ý kiến cho ban lãnh đạo và các bộ phận khác để phục vụ khách tốt hơn.
b. Nhiệm vụ của bộ phận Lễ tân:
- Nhận đặt giữ chỗ cho khách, đón tiếp và làm thủ tục nhập buồng (check in).
- Cung cấp các dịch vụ và các thông tin cho khách nh những thông tin về: giờ tàu chạy, giờ các chuyến bay, các dịch vụ mà khách có thể sử dụng
- Tiến hành sắp xếp phòng cho khách, quản lý các thông tin về khách hàng: số lợng khách, đối tợng khách để từ đó lập báo cáo về tình hình khách.
- Thờng xuyên thông tin đóng góp ý kiến cho ban quản lý, các bộ phận khác về những yêu cầu, phản ánh từ phía khách hàng về chất lợng các dịch vụ mà khách sử dụng để rút kinh nghiệm và phục vụ khách tốt hơn.
