Những lời mời như “Drop in anytime”

Những lời mời như “Drop in anytime” (Hãy đến thăm tôi vào bất cứ lúc nào), hay “Come see me soon” (Đến thăm tôi vào một ngày gần nhất nhé) thường là những lời mời thông dụng ở Anh nhưng hiếm khi được hiểu theo nghĩa đen. Thông thường nếu được mời bạn nên gọi điện trước khi đến thăm người đó. Nếu bạn được mời qua thiệp hay thư mời thì bạn nên trả lời người mời bạn là bạn có đến được hay không.
Đừng bao giờ nhận lời mời nếu bạn không muốn đi. Bạn có thể từ chối bằng cách nói rằng: “Thank you for inviting me, but I will not be able to come” (Cám ơn đã mời tôi nhưng có thể tôi sẽ không đến được). Nếu sau khi đã nhận lời mời mà không đi được thì bạn nên goi điện càng sớm càng tốt để thông báo là bạn không đến được và nhớ nói lời “xin lỗi”.
Khi được mời dùng bữa bạn nên có quà cho chủ nhà. Sôcôla ,hoa hay một món quà nhỏ là phù hợp. Bạn có thể gửi thiệp cám ơn hoặc gọi điện để thể hiện cảm kích của mình khi được mời
