Bài tập tình huống hay còn gọi là tình huống giảng dạy – “Case study” là một dạng học liệu đóng vai trò quan trọng trong giảng dạy và đặc biệt trong mô hình giảng dạy trực tuyến. Trong phạm vi bài viết này, tác giả đưa ra những vấn đề cơ bản nhất trong quá trình thiết kế, xây dựng một bài tập tình huống - “Case study” phục vụ lớp học trực tuyến, bao gồm khái niệm, vai trò, đặc điểm của “Case study”. Bài viết được phân tích dựa trên mô hình 8 bước và các phương pháp xây dựng “Case study” của Herried [3] để đưa ra cách thức triển khai phù hợp với phương pháp giảng dạy trực tuyến, đồng thời đưa ra các yêu cầu đối với người biên soạn “Case study” và điều kiện triển khai thực hiện.
