Nếu doanh nghiệp ngừng sản xuất thì doanh thu của doanh nghiệp
bằng không và chi phí bằng với chi phí cố định (lưu ý, chi phí cố định luôn phát sinh cho dù
doanh nghiệp có sản xuất hay không). Vì vậy, doanh nghiệp sẽ mất đi (lỗ) toàn bộ phần chi
phí cố định. Doanh nghiệp vẫn tiếp tục sản xuất trong ngắn hạn nếu như phần lỗ của doanh
nghiệp ít hơn chi phí cố định (tối thiểu lỗ)
