Từ dữ liệu ảnh viễn thám và các tư liệu thu thập đã xây dựng được tệp dữ liệu mẫu gồm 6 lớp: đất chuyên trồng lúa, đất trồng cây hàng năm khác, đất mặt nước, đất lâm nghiệp, đất sông suối, đất xây dựng với độ chính xác cao. Bằng phương pháp số và kỹ thuật GIS đã giải đoán ảnh viễn thám ba năm 2005, năm 2010 và năm 2015 huyện Tam Nông - tỉnh Phú Thọ, trên cơ sở đó thành lập ba bản đồ sử dụng đất tương ứng, tiến hành chồng xếp xây dựng hai bản đồ biến động sử dụng đất các giai đoạn 2005 - 2010 và 2010 - 2015, qua đó đánh giá biến động đất của địa bàn nghiên cứu.
