3 nhà máy nhiệt điện, với tổng công suất là 3.600MW. Nhiên liệu sử dụng là than, lần lượt được đưa vào vận hành từ năm 2028. Gồm 3 giai đoạn như sau:
¥ Giai đoạn 1: NMĐ Bạc Liêu 1-1: quy mô công suất 600MW

¥ Giai đoạn 2: NMĐ Bạc Liêu II-1: quy mô công suất 600MW
NMĐ Bạc Liêu II-2: quy mô công suất 600MW
¥ Giai đoạn 3: NMĐ Bạc Liêu III-1: quy mô công suất 600MW
NMĐ Bạc Liêu III-2: quy mô công suất 600MW
Nhà máy điện Bạc Liêu 1-1,1-2; 2x600MW sau khi được xây dựng sẽ đấu nối nhà máy lên lưới hệ thống với cấp điện áp 500 và 220kV.
Các công trình đồng bộ với nhà máy nhiệt điện Bạc Liêu như sau:
+ Đường dây 500kV mạch kép phân pha 4xACSR-330mm2 TTĐL Bạc Liêu - Thốt Nốt chiều dài 4xl50km.
+ Đường dây 220kV mạch kép ACSR-400mm2 TTĐL Bạc Liêu - Bạc Liêu II, chiều dài 60km.

Xây dựng mới xuất tuyến liokv mạch kép 2xACKP-240 từ trạm 220kV Bạc Liêu II đi dọc kênh Ngan Dừa qua địa bàn xã Minh Diệu, Vĩnh Bình (H. Hòa Bình), xã Hưng Phú, Vĩnh Phú Đông (H. Phước Long) và đấu nối chuyển tiếp trên đường dây Rạch Giá - Vị Thanh - Cà Mau (cắt đôi đoạn Hồng Dân - Long Mỹ), chiều dài 2x30km.
Cải tạo đường dây ll0kV Cà Mau II - Giá Rai - Bạc Liêu II dây ACSR-150 (đoạn Giá Rai - Trạm 220kV Bạc Liêu II) lên hai mạch tiết diện 2xACSR-240, chiều dài 30km.
