Ngày 11 tháng 7 năm 1994, Chính phủ quyết định chia huyện Bảo Lộc thành 2 đơn vị hành chính là thị xã Bảo Lộc và huyện Bảo Lâm, gồm 6 phường: 1, 2, B'lao, Lộc Phát, Lộc Sơn, Lộc Tiến và 4 xã: Đạm Bri, Lộc Châu, Lộc Nga, Lộc Thanh[3].

Ngày 18 tháng 6 năm 1999, chia xã Lộc Châu thành 2 xã: Lộc Châu và Đại Lào.[4]

Ngày 8 tháng 4 năm 2010, chính phủ ra Nghị quyết 19/NQ-CP nâng cấp thị xã Bảo Lộc trở thành thành phố Bảo Lộc.[5]chính thức ra mắt tại ĐamB'ri.
