Trong quá trình giảng dạy, tôi đảm nhận lớp 6 và lớp 8. Với ý thức vừa nghiên cứu đặc điểm tình hình học tập bộ môn của học sinh vừa tiến hành, rút kinh nghiệm. Ngay từ đầu năm học tôi đã định hướng cho mình một kế hoạch và phương pháp cụ thể để chủ động điều tra tình hình học tập của học sinh do lớp mình phụ trách. Qua điều tra, tôi đã nhận ra rằng hầu hết các em nắm từ vựng không chắc, kỹ năng nghe và giao tiếp bằng tiếng Anh còn hạn chế. Kết quả điều tra cụ thể như sau:
