Dĩ nhiên, các chuỗi giá trị mới sẽ đóng góp tích cực cho sự phát triển bền vững của các vùng cao Việt Nam - những vùng tuy có nhiều lợi thế so sánh (comparative advantage) nhưng thực tế lại là những vùng nghèo đói nhất. Đồng thời, chuỗi giá trị mới cũng giúp người tiêu dùng trên thế giới, trong đó có người dân châu Âu, được thụ hưởng những sản phẩm tốt nhất với giá cả phải chăng nhất. Trong những năm qua, vì thiếu nguồn tài chính hỗ trợ nên tôi vẫn chưa thể tiến hành một nghiên cứu cụ thể để trả lời câu hỏi đó. Tuy nhiên, nhiều đồng nghiệp trong và ngoài nước vẫn khuyến khích tôi kiên trì theo đuổi nó vì đây là một chủ đề thiết thực và chưa được nhiều người quan tâm.
