Để đo lường hiệu quả công ty, đề tài xác định thông qua chỉ số hiệu quả tài chính. Nghiên cứu sử dụng ba biến đại diện cho hiệu quả tài chính gồm ROA (hiệu quả hoạt động), Tobin’s q (TBQ) (giá trị thị trường) và Stock return deviation (SRD). Cả 3 biến này được gọi chung là hiệu quả tài chính công ty (CFP). Bên cạnh đó, đề tài cũng sử dụng các biến kiểm soát trong mô hình hồi quy gồm:
