Trong hệ thống quan trắc môi trường của nước ta, nếu chưa kể các trạm đo hoá nước mưa của ngành khí tượng thủy văn, đã có 3 trạm quan trắc mưa axít, nhưng chỉ có Trạm đo lắng đọng axít phía Bắc, đặt tại thị xã Lào Cai, là đã tiến hành quan trắc tính axít của nước mưa từ năm 1995 đến nay, Trạm đo lắng đọng axít phía Nam, đặt tại Trung tâm Chất lượng nước và môi trường, 253A đường An Dương Vương, Quận 5, thành phố Hồ Chí Minh và Trạm miền Trung, đặt tại Khu Công nghiệp Dung Quất, Quảng Ngãi, mới bắt đầu quan trắc mưa axít từ năm 1999 đến nay.
Nhìn chung, ở nước ta đã xuất hiện các dấu hiệu của mưa axít, tỷ lệ số trận mưa có pH < 5,5 ở các tỉnh miền Đông Nam Bộ lớn hơn các vùng khác, tuy rằng nguồn gốc chưa được xác định rõ (Bảng V.3). Vì vậy cần phải tiếp tục quan trắc và phân tích mưa axít một cách cẩn thận.
