chính thức nộp đơn xin gia nhập WTO từ năm 1995, đến nay quá trình đàm phán của việt nam đã đi đến chặng cuối bằng việc kết thúc 14 phiên đàm phán đa phương và đạ được thỏa thuận với 28 thành viên WTO có yêu cầu đàm phán song phương. Trái qua 11 năm đàm phán với hơn 200 cuộc, việt nam đồng ý tuân thủ toàn bộ các hiệp định và những quy định mang tính ràng buộc của WTO từ thời điểm gia nhập.
