Nghiên cứu "Thái độ xã hội với người đồng tính" thực hiện năm 2010-2011 , cho thấy hiểu biết của xã hội về đồng tính còn rất hạn chế. Gần 90% người đang hiểu sai ít hoặc nhiều về người đồng tính và kỳ thị họ. Trên 75% người được hỏi ủng hộ quyền của người đồng tính, đặc biệt là quyền chung sống và nhận con nuôi. Tuy nhiên, chỉ có 36% ý kiến ủng hộ cho phép người đồng tính kết hôn.
